Regular Season Round 7: AIK Basket - Sloga Uppsala 95-87

We should mention about the upset which took place in Solna, where higher ranked Sloga Uppsala (3-3) lost to thirteenth ranked AIK Basket (2-4) in a road game 87-95 on Saturday. AIK Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sloga Uppsala's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Turkish Erkan Inan (195-1989) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Turkish forward Cenk Sekeroglu (203-1991) helped adding 8 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Four AIK Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-1988) responded with 31 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Greek point guard Mannos Nakos (179-1988) scored 15 points and 8 assists. Sloga Uppsala's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. AIK Basket moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted Sloga Uppsala dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with IK Eos. AIK Basket will meet higher ranked Trelleborg (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sloga Uppsala will play against Tureberg and hope to secure a win.
