Regular Season Round 6: Zamarat - Estepona 81-52

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Estepona (3-2) was smashed by sixth ranked Zamarat (4-2) in Zamora 81-52 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Zamarat dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Estepona's 24. Point guard Isabel Latorre (170-1996) notched 18 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-1990) supported her with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds by Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-1993) did not help to save the game for Estepona. Carla Segura (176-2005) added 15 points. Estepona's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Zamarat have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Estepona dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Lima-Horta and Joventut. Zamarat will meet at home Adareva (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Estepona will play against Alcobendas (#9) and hope to secure a win.
