Very expected game when 7th ranked Eunikos (1-3) lost to top-ranked Panathinaikos (4-0) in Athens 50-68 on Sunday. Panathinaikos made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Chastity Reed (185-1989, college: UALR) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Arica Carter (173-1996, college: Louisville) supported her with 12 points and 4 assists. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds by forward Asiah Jones (190-1998, college: Jacksonville) did not help to save the game for Eunikos. Guard Nikki McDonald (183-1996, college: Georgia South) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panathinaikos have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Olympiacos. Newly promoted Eunikos dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with Niki Lefkadas and Dafni Agioy. Panathinaikos will meet Niki Lefkadas (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eunikos will play against Proteas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
