No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked San Giovanni (5-1) edged bottom-ranked Crema (0-6) in Sesto San Giovanni 64-62 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Croatian forward Ana-Marija Begic (191-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Caterina Dotto (165-1993, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 15 points. Even 19 points by guard Francesca Melchiori (174-1993, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for Crema. Guinean forward Masseny Kaba (191-1998, college: UCF) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. San Giovanni have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Bologna. Newly promoted Crema still closes the standings with six games lost. San Giovanni will meet Bologna (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Crema will play against Ragusa (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
