Regular Season Round 7: Alcobendas - Estepona 76-74

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LF Challenge took place in Alcobendas. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Estepona (3-3) to eighth ranked Alcobendas (4-3) 76-74 in the game for the seventh place. Alcobendas made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Lucia Gutierrez (173-1999) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points. Guard Lucia Togores (176-1996) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. At the losing side Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds and power forward Veronica Matoso (185-1988) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alcobendas moved-up to seventh place. Estepona at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Lima-Horta. Alcobendas are looking forward to face Adareva (#12) in Tenerife in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Estepona will play at home against Picken Claret (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
