Regular Season Round 8: Rennes - Chartres 101-99

There was a change at the NM1 leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader C'Chartres (6-2). They were edged by second ranked Union Rennes (7-1) 101-99 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of C'Chartres. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Union Rennes forced 19 C'Chartres turnovers. American power forward Anthony Smith (201-1997, college: Murray St.) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Guyanese forward Gide Noel (200-1993) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Five C'Chartres players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Union Rennes have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Union Rennes keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. C'Chartres at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost.
