Real Canoe forced 23 Melilla turnovers and outrebounded them 55-40 including a 30-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-1989, college: Towson) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Lucia Rodriguez (188-1999) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds. Real Canoe's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Laura Fernandez (169-1989) produced 16 points and 6 assists and Nigerian Sarah Imovbioh (188-1992, college: S.Carolina) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Melilla players scored in double figures. Real Canoe moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ardoi. Melilla lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with six games lost. Real Canoe will meet higher ranked Joventut (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
