Regular Season Round 4: Buducnost - Banovici 86-60

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Podgorica. Top-ranked Montenegrin Buducnost faced 4th ranked Bosnian Banovici. Host Buducnost (4-0) smashed guests from Banovici (2-2) 86-60. It looked good early as Banovici took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Buducnost had a 28-7 second period charge getting the lead and Banovici was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 60-86. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Banovici to just 7 points in second quarter. Buducnost dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Banovici's 18. Buducnost forced 20 Banovici turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Marija Lekovic (170-2003) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 assists. Serbian power forward Visnja Stefanovic (190-2001) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. Guard Milica Dragicevic (178-2007) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and American guard Aaliyah Dunham (165-1999, college: Marshall) added 18 points in the effort for Banovici. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Buducnost have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Montenegrin champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Banovici at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Duga. Buducnost will play against Zagreb (#5) on the road in the next round. Banovici will play against the league's second-placed Montana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
