Regular Season Round 7: Poznan - UMCS Start 109-51

Bottom-ranked Start 2 (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 109-51 loss to ninth ranked Enea Basket (4-3) in Poznan on Wednesday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2's 38. Enea Basket forced 30 Start 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 47-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Start 2's players. It was a great evening for Jakub Simon (202-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Wojciech Fras (202-1991) helped adding 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Enea Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Kacper Majchrowicz (195-2004) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Milosz Ziolkowski (202-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Enea Basket moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Walbrzych and Koszalin. Start 2 lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Enea Basket will meet Gornik (#8) in the next round. Start 2 will play against WKK (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
