Grasshoppers (6-1) recorded its first loss in Katwijk. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Binnenland (5-2) 82-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Grasshoppers. Binnenland made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Grasshoppers outrebounded Binnenland 53-36 including a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Jamailah Adams (180-1993) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and the former international Janine Guijt (173-1995, college: Regina) who added 26 points during the contest. Binnenland's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Lotte Van Kruistum (183-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and the former international point guard Karin Kuijt (174-1990) scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Grasshoppers players scored in double figures. Binnenland maintains third position with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Den Helder. Grasshoppers at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. Binnenland will play against bottom-ranked Landslake (#9) in Landsmeer in the next round where they are favorite. Grasshoppers will play on the road against Lekdetec.nl (#6) in Bemmel and hope to get back on the winning track.
