There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Le Portel (2-6) defeated at home higher ranked JSF Nanterre (4-4) 77-66 on Friday. They outrebounded JSF Nanterre 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Le Portel looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Terry Allen (203-1993, college: Richmond, agency: One Motive Sports) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and Dutch forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-1997, college: ORU) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Justin Bibbins (178-1996, college: Utah) responded with 26 points and Senegalese-Filipino power forward Hamady NDiaye (213-1987, college: Rutgers) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Le Portel moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Paris and Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Loser JSF Nanterre dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Bourg and Limoges. Le Portel will meet at home higher ranked Sluc Nancy (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. JSF Nanterre will play against Metropolitans (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
