Regular Season Round 9: Le Havre - Boulogne 100-95

Very expected game when 12th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (2-7) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked STB Le Havre (6-4) 100-95 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. STB Le Havre made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when STB Le Havre made 7 blocks. Valentin Bigote (196-1992) stepped up and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-1995) chipped in 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. STB Le Havre's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American swingman Wendell Davis (197-1995, college: Ashland) with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Matthias Flosse (210-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Four STB Le Havre and five SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. STB Le Havre moved-up to sixth place. Loser SO Maritime Boulogne keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kaysersberg. STB Le Havre will meet higher ranked Andrezieux (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against Hyeres-Toulon (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
