Regular Season Round 8: UMCS Start - WKK Wroclaw 96-79

Start 2's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked WKK (3-5) 96-79. Start 2 made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Start 2 outrebounded WKK 46-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Bartlomiej Pelczar (185-2000) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Sebastian Walda (196-2000) who added 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Start 2 players scored in double figures. Point guard Tomasz Ochonko (183-1986, agency: BIG) responded with 20 points and 5 assists and swingman Dominik Rutkowski (194-1998) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. WKK's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Start 2 (1-7) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place, which they share with Polonia W-wa and Bytom. WKK at the other side keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Opole and Krakow. Start 2 will play against higher ranked SGH (#13) in Krakow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. WKK will play at home against Gornik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
