There was a minor upset when higher ranked Nantes (2-2) was edged on the road by thirteenth ranked Entente Orleans 45 (2-2) 80-77 on Saturday. Strangely Nantes outrebounded Entente Orleans 45 35-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. Croatian guard Toni Perkovic (191-1998, agency: AltusBasket) fired 20 points for the winners. Cameroonian center Junior MBida (206-1990) chipped in 15 points. Four Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. Center Thomas Hieu-Courtois (200-1995) produced 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-1992, college: Fordham) added 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Entente Orleans 45 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Nantes. Entente Orleans 45 will meet higher ranked Etoile Angers (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nantes will play against Lille Metropole and hope to secure a win.
