Regular Season Round 8: ASVEL - Fos-Provence 70-80

The most important game in the last round took place in Villeurbanne between second ranked ASVEL (6-2) and eighth ranked Fos-Provence (5-3) on Saturday night. ASVEL was defeated by Fos-Provence at home 80-70. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of ASVEL. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Willian Marie-Anais (201-2004) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Djibril Diawara (190-2003) who added 22 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Five Fos-Provence players scored in double figures. Danish-Israeli point guard Noam Yaacov (186-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists and Kylian Toure scored 17 points and 4 steals. Fos-Provence have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. ASVEL at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Fos-Provence is looking forward to face Strasbourg (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ASVEL will play against Dijon (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
