There was no surprise when 13th ranked Aranguren (1-5) was outleveled at home by fourth ranked Castello (5-1) 79-41 on Saturday. Castello held Aranguren to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.2 percent accuracy of the winners and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Castello outrebounded Aranguren 52-39 including 39 on the defensive glass. Forward Aina Martin (178-2000) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Laura Campos (-2001) supported her with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Even 3 points and 11 rebounds by Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (182-1983) did not help to save the game for Aranguren. Ana Valero added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castello have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Viladecans and CD Talent. Aranguren lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Castello will meet Sant Adria (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aranguren will play against Almeda in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
