No shocking result in a game in Grodno where second ranked Olimpia (7-1) smashed 7th ranked RGUOR (2-6) 87-53 on Saturday. Olimpia dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to RGUOR's 34. Olimpia forced 20 RGUOR turnovers and outrebounded them 47-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by RGUOR's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Elizaveta Shyshliuk (178-2005) who scored 23 points. The former international point guard Katsiaryna Novik (179-2005) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Marta Golovach (-2009) who recorded 13 points and Daria Kulik (-2008) added 6 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia maintains second place with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Gorizont. Newly promoted RGUOR keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Olimpia are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Brest (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RGUOR's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Gorizont.
