Regular Season Round 5: Lavrio - AEK 67-84

Bottom-ranked Lavrio is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to second ranked AEK (4-1) 84-67. AEK players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Lavrio's players. American forward Cameron McGriff (201-1997, college: OK State) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Panamanian-American center Akil Mitchell (206-1992, college: Virginia) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. American guard RJ Cole (185-1999, college: UConn) responded with 18 points and guard Alexandros Nikolaidis (190-2002) scored 15 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AEK maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Olympiacos. Lavrio lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. AEK will play against Ionikos (#11) in Aigaleo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lavrio will play on the road against Apollon P. in Patras and hopes to get finally their first victory.
