Regular Season Round 8: Pelplin - Krosno 74-80

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Decka (2-6) lost to tenth ranked Miast Szkla (4-4) in Pelpin 74-80 on Sunday. Miast Szkla shot 27 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Decka only scored eleven points from the stripe. Miast Szkla forced 19 Decka turnovers. The winners were led by Michal Jankowski (191-1987, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 21 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Pawel Spica (190-1993) supported him with 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Miast Szkla players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by guard Dawid Saczewski (188-1999) did not help to save the game for Decka. American forward Thomas Davis (198-1991, college: SWOSU) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Miast Szkla moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Koszalin and Poznan. Decka lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Zgorzelec. Miast Szkla will meet at home Zak (#10) in the next round. Decka will play against Slask (#6) in Wroclaw and hope to secure a win.
