Regular Season Round 5: MuKi - Ura Basket 83-88

Not a big story in a game in Helsinki where 9th ranked MuKi (2-3) was defeated by leader Ura Basket (5-0) 88-83 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MuKi won fourth quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ura Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to MuKi's 34. Power forward Teemu Ritanotko (202-1994) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Anton Kankaanpaa (196, college: S.Nazarene) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ura Basket players scored in double figures. Center Alexander Aglassinger (198-2001) responded with 22 points and guard Nikolas Kataja (194-2002) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ura Basket have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser MuKi keeps the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ura Basket will meet at home Pyrinto Ak.B (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MuKi will play against Kataja Ta. in Joensuu and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the 1st Division A just one year after relegation.
