Regular Season Round 6: Trieste - Sassari 75-69
Date: November 6, 2022
There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Trieste (2-4) won against at home higher ranked Sassari (2-4) 75-69 on Sunday. American guard Frank Bartley IV (191-1994, college: Louisiana, agency: One Motive Sports) notched 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Skylar Spencer (206-1994, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Bartley IV is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (207-1990) did not help to save the game for Sassari. American center Chinanu Onuaku (207-1996, college: Louisville, agency: MSG) added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sassari's coach Piero Bucchi rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Trieste moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Sassari. Trieste will meet league's second-placed Milano on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sassari will play against Scafati (#15) and hope to secure a win.
