Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Trento (4-2) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Verona (1-5) 92-86 on Sunday. Trento made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. International guard Matteo Spagnolo (193-2003) notched 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Latvian Andrejs Grazulis (202-1993) supported him with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Even 20 points by point guard Alessandro Cappelletti (186-1995) did not help to save the game for Verona. American power forward Aric Holman (208-1997, college: MSU) added 10 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Verona's coach Alessandro Ramagli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Trento maintains fourth position with 4-2 record, which they share with Varese and Venezia. Verona lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with five games lost. They share the position with Scafati. Trento will meet at home league's leader Virtus BO in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Verona will play against Reggio Emilia (#9) and hope to win that game.
