Regular Season Round 6: Venezia - Napoli 82-71
Date: November 6, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Napoli (2-4) lost on the road to sixth ranked Venezia (4-2) 82-71 on Sunday. American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and naturalized Uruguayan guard Jayson Granger (188-1989) supported him with 4 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Granger is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American center JaCorey Williams (203-1994, college: MTSU) did not help to save the game for Napoli. American-Puerto Rican point guard Jordan Howard (180-1996, college: Cent Arkansas) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Venezia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Varese and Trento. Loser Napoli keeps the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Venezia will meet Varese (#6) on the road in the next round. Napoli will play against Treviso and hope to secure a win.
