Regular Season Round 5: Berleti - Partizani 41-115

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tirana: Partizani (#3) and Berleti (#7). Berleti was crushed at home by 74 points 41-115 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Partizani dominated down low during the game scoring 92 of its points in the paint compared to Berleti's 20. Partizani forced 35 Berleti turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Berleti's players. The best player for the winners was the former international Orjana Hasani (178-2002) who scored 25 points. Point guard Tea Jace (170-1997) chipped in 23 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Partizani players scored in double figures. Forward Fiona Oruci (176-2000) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Neda Uka added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Berleti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Partizani maintains third place with 3-2 record behind leader Flamurtari. Berleti at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Partizani's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tirana Studenti.
