Regular Season Round 6: RSU - TalTech 86-45
Date: November 6, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Riga where top-ranked Latvian RSU (3-0) smashed top-ranked Estonian TalTech (6-3) 86-45 on Sunday. RSU dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to TalTech's 28. RSU forced 25 TalTech turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by TalTech's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when RSU made 9 blocks. Forward Luize Septe (180-1999, college: S.Florida) scored 7 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Katrina Ozola (188-2004) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Anna Tamberg (176-2004) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Annika Koster (182-1992) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. RSU have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory RSU went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser TalTech still keeps top place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
