Regular Season Round 9: Gorzow - Koscian 72-73

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Gorzow (4-6) was edged at home by fifth ranked Koscian (7-3) 73-72 on Wednesday. Koscian forced 20 Gorzow turnovers and had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Mateusz Kaczmarek (186-1997) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and center Szymon Milczynski (204-1993) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Koscian players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Norbert Grzegorczyk (197-2000) with 20 points and 7 rebounds and German point guard Tom Benk (185-1999) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Gorzow's coach Andrzej Stefanowicz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Koscian. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SMS PZKosz and Zary. Newly promoted Gorzow dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Koscian will meet at home Sudety (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gorzow will play against Siechnice and hope to secure a win.
