Regular Season Round 5: Banovici - Montana 62-91

An interesting game for Bulgarian Montana (4-1) which played road game in Banovici against 4th placed Bosnian Banovici (2-3). Second ranked Montana had an easy win 91-62. The game without a history. Montana led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Banovici's 24. They outrebounded Banovici 42-23 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Monique Reid (185-1990, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 6 assists (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winners and center Aleksandra Petrova (190-1998) chipped in 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard Aaliyah Dunham (165-1999, college: Marshall) responded with 11 points and 6 assists and center Ajla Ikanovic (192-1999) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Montana maintains second place with 4-1 record behind leader Celje. Banovici at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Montana will play against Play Off (#6) in Sarajevo in the next round. Banovici will play on the road against Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
