Bilbao (5-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Mondragon (2-3) 85-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Bilbao. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Martin Buesa (204-1988) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Andoni Acha (195-1999) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Swingman Unai Barandalla (193-2002) came up with 31 points and 5 rebounds and Elvis Soluchukwu (-2003) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Bilbao in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mondragon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 7 other teams. Newly promoted Bilbao dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
