Regular Season Round 7: Almeria - Murgi 82-61

Very expected game when 10th ranked Murgi (1-3) was smashed on the road by second ranked Almeria (3-1) 82-61 on Saturday. Almeria outrebounded Murgi 42-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Luis Rueda (186-1996) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Forward Juan Miguel Molina (195-2000) accounted for 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Bernardo Gimenez (-2002) came up with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Miguel Lopez (-1981) added 10 points respectively for Murgi in the defeat. Four Murgi players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Almeria keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Newly promoted Murgi dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Almeria will meet La Zubia (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Murgi will play against the league's second-placed Eurogaza (#2) in Cordoba and hope to win that game.
