Regular Season Round 7: Pula - Ragusa 44-80

Premijer Liga top team - Ragusa (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Pula (3-4) 80-44. Ragusa dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Pula's 22. Ragusa forced 32 Pula turnovers and outrebounded them 49-31 including a 24-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Pula's players. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Iva Todoric (174-1993) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals. Power forward Ana Vrsaljko (188-1984) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Ragusa players scored in double figures. Ragusa's coach Cvetana Matic felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Ivana Ujevic (176-2000) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Slovenian Ana Saric (185-2000) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Pula in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Ragusa. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record, which they share with Zagreb. Pula lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with four games lost. Ragusa will meet at home bottom-ranked Split (#12) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pula will play against KAZL Split (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
