Regular Season Round 7: Cassino - Corato Adr. 91-72

Very expected game when 11th ranked Corato Adr. (2-4) was rolled over on the road by second ranked Cassino (5-2) 91-72 on Saturday. Cassino outrebounded Corato Adr. 39-21 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Corato Adr.'s players. It was a great evening for Montenegrin Lazar Kekovic (204-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Flavio Gay (185-1998) helped adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Cassino players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Francesco Infante (204-1992) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and point guard Mauro Stella (190-1984) scored 16 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cassino. They maintain second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Ruvo di Puglia, which they share with 7 other teams. Newly promoted Corato Adr. dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with San Miniato. Cassino will meet league's leader Ruvo di Puglia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Corato Adr. will play against RO Luiss (#5) in Roma and hope to secure a win.
