Regular Season Round 6: ToPo Juniorit - Huima 89-101

The most important game in the last round took place in Helsinki between third ranked ToPo Juniorit (4-2) and ninth ranked Huima (2-3) on Saturday night. ToPo Juniorit was defeated by Huima at home 101-89. The game was mostly controlled by Huima. ToPo Juniorit managed to win second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Huima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Zach Naylor (203, college: Tarleton St.) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Deontaye Buskey (185, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 27 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Alvar Michelsen (197-2000) with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Leo Nordberg (185-2004) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 assists. Four ToPo Juniorit players scored in double figures. ToPo Juniorit's coach Turo Lehtonen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Huima moved-up to eighth place, which they share with HBA-Marsky. ToPo Juniorit at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Huima is looking forward to face Oulun Bball (#11) at home in the next round. ToPo Juniorit will play against Raiders Basket (#12) in Jarvenpaa and is hoping to win this game.
