Regular Season Round 9: Ardoi - Melilla 62-58

Very expected game when 16th ranked Melilla (1-7) lost on the road to eighth ranked Ardoi (5-4) 62-58 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (186-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Senegalese forward Fatou Pouye (183, college: Duquesne) accounted for 8 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-1996) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Brazilian guard Alana Goncalo (166-1994) added 11 points respectively for Melilla in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ardoi moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Al-Qazeres. Newly promoted Melilla stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Ardoi will meet Lima-Horta (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Melilla will play against the league's leader Ferrol (#1) and hope to win that game.
