Regular Season Round 7: Alfinden - Vic 75-71

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Alfinden (4-3) won against 4th placed Vic (5-2) in Zaragoza 75-71 on Saturday. Alfinden made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Vic turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Cory Reeves (198, college: Park) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Jose Antonio Malo accounted for 11 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winning side. Jordi Boix came up with 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and forward David Vidal (194-1997) added 16 points respectively for Vic in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Alfinden moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Vic dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Alfinden will meet Agora Portals (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vic will play against the league's second-placed Mataro UE (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
