Date: November 12, 2022
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Olimpia (8-1) crushed bottom-ranked Brest (0-10) in Grodno 91-41 on Saturday. Olimpia held Brest to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 50.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Olimpia forced 32 Brest turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Brest's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia made 7 blocks. The former international point guard Katsiaryna Novik (179-2005) notched 15 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Ulyana Skiba (173-2000) supported her with 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Olimpia's coach Viktoryia Datsun felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds by forward Anastasia Babak (180-2002) did not help to save the game for Brest. Forward Anastasia Kuratnik (174-2002) added 17 points and 4 steals for lost side. Olimpia moved-up to second place. Brest at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Olimpia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brest will play against Gomel (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
