An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Chania. Top-ranked Olympiacos faced 4th ranked Chania. Guests from Piraeus (6-0) smashed host Chania (3-2) 86-48. Olympiacos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Anna Spyridopoulou (184-1988) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Megan Gustafson (190-1996, college: Iowa) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Olympiacos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian-Lebanese point guard Rebecca Akl (170-1992) who recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Ciera Johnson (190-1997, college: Texas A&M) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Panathinaikos. Chania at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Olympiacos is looking forward to face league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chania will play on the road against Eleutheria M. in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
