Regular Season Round 8: Enea AZS II P. - Swarzedz 65-67

There was no surprise in Ponzan where 11th ranked Enea AZS II P. (2-6) was edged by eighth ranked Swarzedz (4-4) 67-65 on Sunday. Swarzedz looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Marta Wdowiuk (179-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Magdalena Pisera (178-1995) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. Four Swarzedz players scored in double figures. Guard Julia Rakowska (172-2007) produced 18 points and guard Martyna Glowczak (175-2007) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Enea AZS II P.'s coach Grzegorz Zielinski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Swarzedz moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Plock and Rybnik. Newly promoted Enea AZS II P. dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with AZS UMCS II. Swarzedz will meet at home Aleksandrow L. (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Enea AZS II P. will play against the league's leader Wisla Krakow and will have a slim chance for a victory.
