Regular Season Round 8: Fjolnir - Thor AK 95-67

Fjolnir has finally registered their first victory this season after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Thor AK (0-8) 95-67. The game was mostly controlled by Fjolnir. Thor AK was better in third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Croatian point guard Petar Peric (189-1997) who scored that evening 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Rafn Kristjansson (200-1999) supported him with 10 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by Croatian power forward Toni Cutuk (208-1999) did not help to save the game for Thor AK. Spanish point guard Arturo Fernandez (183-1990, agency: Helping Ballers) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Thor AK's coach Daniel Halldorsson gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Fjolnir maintains ninth position with 1-7 record. It was Thor AK's eighth loss in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Fjolnir will play against higher ranked Hamar (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Thor AK will play against Hrunamenn (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
