A very close game took place in Pelpin between Kotwica and Decka. Sixth ranked Kotwica (7-3) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Decka (3-7). Kotwica managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Mikolaj Kurpisz (203-1998) scored 8 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American point guard James Washington (182-1987, college: MTSU) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists during the contest. Kotwica's coach Rafal Frank used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Thomas Davis (198-1991, college: SWOSU) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Pawel Kopycki (204-2000) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Kotwica moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Walbrzych. Loser Decka keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Kotwica will meet at home Miast Szkla (#8) in the next round. Decka will play against Dziki (#3) in Warszawa and hope to secure a win.
