Regular Season Round 8: Prievidza - Handlova 59-93

Very significant was Handlova's (#6) 34-point road victory against 8th ranked Prievidza 93-59. It was a great shooting night for Handlova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Prievidza was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American guard Deleon Brown (190-1997, college: GVSU) who scored that evening 30 points and the other American import guard Keon Clergeot (185-1996, college: SE Louisiana, agency: GoEmpire Group) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Handlova players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian point guard Djukan Djukanovic (182-1992) did not help to save the game for Prievidza. Center Samuel Kincel (206-2000) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Prievidza's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Handlova maintains sixth position with 3-5 record, which they share with Lucenec. Prievidza lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Handlova will play against higher ranked Iskra Svit (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Prievidza will play against Lucenec and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
