The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Gorizont (9-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked BC Minsk (9-2) 78-62. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Gorizont. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. BC Minsk looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Ala Murauskaya (187-1985) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. Center Yana Makutsa (196-2004) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Anastasiya Verameyenka (195-1987) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-2001) scored 13 points and 5 assists. BC Minsk have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Gorizont still keeps top position with one game lost. BC Minsk are looking forward to face Victoria (#5) in Grodno in the next round. Gorizont's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena BDU Tsmoki.
