Regular Season Round 12: Jamtland - Uppsala 89-57
Date: November 17, 2022
There was no surprise in Ostersund where 9th ranked Uppsala (2-8) was crushed by seventh ranked Jamtland (4-4) 89-57 on Thursday. Jamtland dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Uppsala's 16 and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Uppsala 42-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jamtland looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Uppsala's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Pierre Hampton (201-1991) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American power forward RT Guinn (208-1981, college: Baylor) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Jamtland players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jordan Shepherd (193, college: California) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Niklas Larsson (199-1994) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jamtland moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Nassjo. Newly promoted Uppsala keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Jamtland will meet higher ranked BC Lulea (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Uppsala will play against the league's leader Boras (#1) and hope to secure a win.
