There was no surprise when 17th ranked ASA (1-4) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Chalons-Reims (3-2) 57-52 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Croatian forward David Skara (203-1995, college: Clemson) stepped up and scored 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Marquis Jackson (183-1994, college: Ohio Christian) chipped in 13 points. Serbian power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (206-1993, college: USC) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Anthony Racine (190-1994) scored 11 points. Chalons-Reims moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser ASA dropped to the sixteenth position with four games lost. They share it with Saint Vallier. Chalons-Reims will meet at home ALM Evreux (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ASA will play against Aix-Maurienne in Aix-les-Bains and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
