Regular Season Round 7: HBA-Marsky - Kipina 94-104

No shocking result in a game in Helsinki where sixth ranked Kipina (4-3) defeated 8th ranked HBA-Marsky (2-4) 104-94 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Kipina. HBA-Marsky managed to win third quarter 34-30. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Kipina won last quarter 24-16. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard ArMond Davis (196-1995, college: UCSB) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Brian Cameron (188-1997, college: Wesley) helped adding 32 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Eino Pallijeff (198-2004) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Morris Ugusuk (189-2004) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Four Kipina and five HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. HBA-Marsky's coach Hanno Mottola rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Kipina maintains sixth place with 4-3 record. HBA-Marsky lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Kipina will meet at home higher ranked HNMKY (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HBA-Marsky will play against Kouvot Ak. (#8) in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
