Rather expected game when 8th ranked Miast Szkla (5-6) was smashed by sixth ranked Kotwica (8-3) in Kolobrzeg 85-59. Kotwica players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for Mikolaj Kurpisz (203-1998) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Naturalized American point guard James Washington (182-1987, college: MTSU) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Michal Jankowski (191-1987, agency: Interperformances) responded with 15 points and naturalized American center Darrell Harris (205-1984, college: URI) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kotwica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Walbrzych and Tychy. Miast Szkla at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Opole. Kotwica will play against Slask (#7) in Wroclaw in the next round. Miast Szkla will play at home against Dziki and hopes to get back on the winning track.
