Regular Season Round 8: Polonia W-wa - Bydgoszcz 79-72
Date: November 19, 2022
Rather expected game when 10th ranked Bydgoszcz (1-6) lost to eighth ranked Polonia W-wa (3-4) in Warszawa 72-79 on Saturday. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by guard Andreona Keys (178-1995, college: Purdue) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 rebounds and Jessica Jackson (193-1995, college: Arkansas) supported her with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Keys is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Polonia W-wa players scored in double figures. Polonia W-wa's coach Maciej Gordon used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Sparkle Taylor (178-1995, college: UTEP) did not help to save the game for Bydgoszcz. Power forward Stephanie Kostowicz (188-1995, college: Milwaukee) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Polonia W-wa moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Poznan and Wroclaw. Bydgoszcz lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Polonia W-wa will meet at home league's leader Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bydgoszcz will play against Sosnowiec (#4) and hope to win that game.
