Regular Season Round 7: Megaridas - Psychikou 67-75

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Psychikou (4-3) beat on the road 5th ranked Megaridas (4-3) 75-67 on Saturday. Psychikou looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) fired 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-1985) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Angelos Gatzias (195-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Minas Papagiannis (200-2002) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Megaridas' coach Giorgos Mandalos tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Psychikou moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Megaridas. Psychikou will meet at home Aias Evosmou (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Megaridas will play against the league's second-placed AO Triton (#2) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
