Bottom-ranked Zaragoza managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against sixteenth-ranked Real Betis in Sevilla 83-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference suggests that Zaragoza is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. And what about a second win in a row after ...six consecutive losses. The winners were led by American guard Justinian Jessup (201-1998, college: Boise St.) who scored that evening 20 points and the former international Santiago Yusta (200-1997) supported him with 18 points. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by Greek Georgios Tsalmpouris (216-1996, college: Iowa St.) did not help to save the game for Real Betis. Naturalized Dominican Eulis Baez (201-1982, college: W.Illinois) added 12 points for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zaragoza (2-6) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Real Betis lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost.
