Very predictable result in Lugo where fourth ranked Barca CBS (5-2) beat 13th ranked Ensino (3-5) 74-69 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Canadian center Ruth Davis (198-1994, college: Oregon St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Jolene Anderson (173-1986, college: Wisconsin) helped adding 17 points. Five Barca CBS players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Blanca Millan (185-1998, college: Maine) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Paula Ginzo (187-1998) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Barca CBS have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Barca CBS maintains fourth place with 5-2 record. Ensino lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Barca CBS will meet Valencia (#6) on the road in the next round. Ensino will play against IDK Eustotren in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
