Regular Season Round 7: Brindisi - Pesaro 74-102
Date: November 20, 2022
The most shocking disappointment of round 7 was a home defeat of 7th ranked Brindisi (3-4) by eighth ranked Pesaro (4-3) who outscored them by 28 points 102-74. Pesaro dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Brindisi's 30. Pesaro forced 19 Brindisi turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Brindisi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman (193-1994, college: Michigan) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian-Canadian center Dejan Kravic (210-1990, college: Texas Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Pesaro players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jason Burnell (201-1997, college: JSU) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Ky Bowman (185-1998, college: Boston Coll.) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pesaro moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Venezia and Trento. Brindisi at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Pesaro is looking forward to face Sassari (#9) at home in the next round. Brindisi will play against the league's leader Virtus BO in Bologna and is hoping to win this game.
